Hey there ~
My name is Tracey and I should probably be punched for being a 25 year old women who spends all her time online watching cartoons instead of furthering her career or scouting for husbands or any of that important grown-up stuff. But if you're here right now you're probably a nerd too so you understand the struggle.

Bottom Text: CUSTOMER IS CONFUSED/ANGRY WHEN THEY CAN’T USE IT ON A $14 PURCHASE

This happens more than you would think. Our customers frequently come in with $10, $15, or $20 off coupons that they get for being a part of rewards credit card program. I’ve had so many come to my register and act all confused when I tell them, “No, you can’t take $20 off of a $13 purchase.” Some of them even get angry, claiming that our coupon system is confusing, etcetera, etcetera.

Um, no. Maybe if you actually read the coupon (or you were capable of doing simple math) we wouldn’t encounter this problem.

I like to blame about 85% of all coupon issues on that DAMNED EXTREME COUPONING SHOW. Seriously, in the show they lead people to believe that all stores actually give YOU cash if your coupon exceeds the price. Customers in that show are always like “LOL I got $800 worth of groceries free AND now they’re handing me $200, teehee!”

It really pisses me off. If that show hasn’t been cancelled yet it really needs to be. I’ll bet they film it in a tax-free state too. That’s another thing that confuses customers - the sales tax fee. NO IT ISNT FREE. NOTHING IS FREE IN LIFE. :|
